Sometimes Life Doesn’t Turn Out Quite Like You Imagined
We can spend years building a life only to have it fall apart. It is tempting to give into despair, but let me tell you a secret...sometimes it’s a gift! When our carefully constructed walls tumble, we have an opportunity to rebuild on a firm foundation, that is Jesus Christ.
Often that means clearing the rubble of bad decisions and renewing our mind with the truth we find in God’s Word. It’s hard, messy, complicated but worth every tear for God intends that we should live in freedom. Freedom from anger, bitterness, and self-loathing and freedom to grow in grace, wisdom, and mercy.
I won’t be pretend to have all the answers, but I’ll share my journey with you in hopes that you find comfort in knowing we all struggle and encouragement to keep putting one foot in front of the other until you find yourself standing on the other side of His promise.
“When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.” Proverbs 10:25
